InsectiGuard is manufactured and distributed by A Brite Company of Garland, Texas. Founded in 1982, A Brite’s roots are in the metal finishing and waste water chemical industries. Privately held, the company is still owned and operated by the Dunigan family.

InsectiGuard was created a few years back by Dan Dunigan, the current president of the company. A marketing professional by education, Dan has learned a fair amount of chemistry along the way in the business.

One spring evening, while Dan’s wife was bathing their young children, she was confronted by a wasp in the upstairs bathroom. Dan responded to her call to grab your bug juice and get up here! The “bug juice” was Dan’s bottle of InsectiGuard’s first incarnation. YardGuard, a powerful blend of natural bug repellents and essential oils that repel bugs like peppermint oil, rosemary oil and our key ingredient, geraniol oil. Since he knew it had worked on other, less hardy insects, he figured it should handle this larger, more robust insect too. He ran upstairs to his family’s aid and squirted the pesky nuisance upon arrival. It worked—killing that wasp in one shot—and it smelled good, too, thanks to the essential oils in this all natural insect repellent. Initially, our formula was designed for the DIY misting systems found online and those installed professionally by companies like MistAway, MosquitoJoe, Mosquito Squad, and several others. Most of these mosquito control services charge large fees for refilling your systems using inferior products to our YardGuard. Today, it’s used as a mosquito repellent for yards, lawns and ball fields across Texas using automated pump systems, hand pump sprayers, hose attachments as well as these misting systems.
